United Airlines Cargo Building at O’Hare Airport

This project consisted of the demolition of a 1 & 2 story masonry building w/steel structure and partial basement. The first floor contained United Airlines cargo operations and totaled 449,430 square feet. The 2nd floor housed the operational offices for the cargo facility, measuring 15,150 square feet. The basement, totaling 207,900 square feet, was used for additional cargo storage. Work was carried out adjacent to and inside of the O’Hare Airport flight security zone. The project included removal and disposal/recycling of equipment and building structure. Concrete slabs and foundations were recycled and used in the O’Hare Modernization project.
